240sx KA auto transmission - possible to keep in 3rd gear (force fail safe)?

Is there a way (quick way hopefully) to force the TCU into failsafe mode where only 3rd gear is active for the Nissan 240sx KA24DE Auto?

My long delayed turbo project is finally picking up again, and I am planning on going for a tuning session within the next few weeks - auto 240sx.

Currently, the biggest potential problem with tuning right now is that the car will downshift at certain WOT speeds.

Ideally, I want to be able to do 3rd gear pulls from 2000 rpm -> redline. And hopefully 2nd gear pulls from 2000 rpm -> redline.

Does anyone know if there is a quick/easy way to force the transmission into 2nd gear only & 3rd gear only?

I do know that the failsafe mode for the tcu puts the transmission in 3rd gear only - but I do not know if this affects any other parameters & how to get this to occur on command (the transmission is working fine right now, so no failsafe mode).
