Haha I don't think I'll be getting bored. Next year I plan on upgrading the turbos and having the motor push 550WHP because it's already built for a "reliable" 650WHP. I'll be flaring the fenders and going with much wider rubber, too.

All that will happen after I become comfortable with the car.

Ya, I'm up north of the 101. Haha daym, don't drive on the street!!! Be patient, that way you can retain your privilege to drive. Kierland is a cool place. I go to the driving range at cracker jax occasionally.

Thanks, 80watthamster. I can't take credit for the build, only for finding an incredible buy and taking action.

90_240sxx: Nope, I heard there was something over by frank lloyd wright. That's cool, though. When do they meet over there (40th and indian)?

You should really upgrade those turbos, The shatter at 1.2bar. Love the car....Hope you are going with BIGGER brakes then the 300zx ones!!Keep up the good work!

Definitely. The car is currently set at 1.2 bar lol! They are the R34 turbos so it is maxed out. I am going to take it in to be tuned at 1 bar to be safe... don't want to blow it up.

I'm looking into bigger brakes, but I'll use these for a track day or two, first.

Thanks!

This looks like it is Mike Gentile's previous car. You can find pics here: http://www.driftunit.com/profiles/gentile/

I remember reading somewhere how he ended up selling the vehicle. The new owner ended up doing a RB motor swap and re-did the roll cage, which looks exactly like what your car looks now.

There is a long build thread on this car over on vwvortex somewhere. I don't have the link saved but you should try and find it. Mike did an excellent job during the rebuild and didnt spare any expense. Congrats on the great find!

paint the cage the same color blue as your valve stems. should there be a box to enclose that battery? maybe it's just me, but i would feel safer, no matter what kind of battery it is. very sick car none the less, and for a good price. congrats, and please don't crash it.

Definitely better than sex.

Not sure about the intake pipe, could be custom fab. I'll need to ask the guys at G-Dimension.

yep that's where I found it. I lost the auction but afterwards offered to match the winning price because the winner didn't pay up.

You can find a link to that stage of the build earlier in the thread. I was very happy to find out the car had real history behind it.

Wow! Am still drooling when I saw this car listed up on Ebay. Funny thing is, the picture off ebay is and has been my background for a week or two now.

Ugh I'm with you all on the drooling, googly eyes, etc. Staying out of the garage has proven to be difficult. I'm glad it's a huge pain to drive in this heat, or I'd be out mashing around like I shouldn't be.

The clutch on the car is insane. I've had a "stage 4" racing clutch in my teg, ridden countless bikes with twin-disc clutches, driven roommates 3rd Gen rx-7 with racing twin-disc (almost as quick until he blew the 13b seals, now it's in rebuild). None of those really compare. If you noticed the driveway, imagine starting and stopping with a clutch that likes to either grab immediately, or shake the hell out of your car until you get speed.

I'm going to be posting pics here tonight of the interior after I've washed it...twice, and some of the problems with the car. I'm going to be painting the roll cage next week (as soon as the paint is delivered) so stay tuned for that and other projects being done to the car in the offseason.

Also, if you guys want, I can make a video-tour of the car. I'll start the car, yap and point at stuff, etc.

I really can't wait until sept/oct... track time...

That coupe is awesome beyond words. I'm with the vote to have the cage match the wheels ( love gold and white together ).
