hey, im in the process of swaping mine now. im almost done and i am also using auto ecu. as far as problems go, the only one ive realy heard about is some problems cold starting. i live in North Idaho, so it gets cold as balls up here, but we get so much snow i wont be driving it anyway, so im not too concerned. i am not sure as far as the rev limiter. but i do have a question for you. im to the point of wiring my ecu and i am doing the neutral position switch. now i know i connect the green wire from my switch to the red wire on the ecu. my question is, do i just tap it in? or do i cut it? and if i cut it, wich red wire do i connect it too, the one coming from the ECU plug, or the one that goes into the rest of the car?. and my second question is, (sence i dont have the original trans harness, im just hard wiring everything) both wires on the sencor are the same color. what are the conciquences for connecting the ECU and ground to the wrong wires? or does it not matter?

Yes but you will have to swap the bellhousings and the sensors.

No they are not the same but you will need to use the auto tranny harness and use the connectors off the 5 speed tranny harness - or any typ connector really but you will need both connectors. All you need is the reverse sensor and the neutral sensor.

I just picked up a '95 240sx, and the previous owner already did a 5 speed swap but did not do any of the wiring for the speed sensor or the reverse light switch. Does anyone have a schematic for those two circuits so I can figure out which wires to tap into to make those two sensors work? the previous owner hacked up the wiring in my car so bad that none of the car's connectors are there, and the connectors for the sensors were just cut off leaving about 2" of wire out of the sensors.

there is no mod to the speed sensor - you can download free factory service manuals from my website in the FSM section - http://www.240SXTECHDVDS.org

Are you talking about the interior harness or the engine bay harness (motor/tranny)

Also why would you use an auto harness on a 5 speed car? If its already 5 speed you shouldnt need anything from an auto...

Little more info would be great.

If you have a 5 speed car and an auto engine/tranny harness - its not worth the trouble/time to get it to work.

My buddy has a 96' 5 speed (EFI) engine harness (no tranny harness) for $135.00 shippedIf you need the 5 speed fuse box too (engine bay) - $75.00 shipped with harnessYou can get a S14 5 speed tranny harness online used for less than $75.00

wait its not the engine or tranny harness. its the room body harness. which is the one that runs up all with light clips. my tranny harness is fine. what if i get a auto tranny harness to plug into the auto main harness. then just do the things u need to swap it for a manual trans.

there is really nothing to this swap. I did an s13 to a s13 and it was cake. All i pluged in was the speed sensor. no backup lights yet. but my cruise and everything works just fine.

the car rips without the auto
