240sx acting up. Need Help!!!

I recently replaced my intake and head gasket due to them going bad. I blocked my egr off and removed it. my set up is a ka24det. I finally got it started tonight, it revs up to like 3k, drops to 500 and back to 3k and dies if you dont give it gas. After 3k it seems to clear up.I do have an exhaust leak which isn't helping and im thinking my distributor timing is off a little, but i can't get it settled down enough to set it right. my maf is plugged in, everything seems plugged in.And i still had just a little milky oil coming out of my crankcase breather. i need help, thanks in advance.

Sounds like a vacuum leak. You can spray water on the intake manifold and if it starts to sputter in one area that will help you narrow it down.

you ever figure the problem out, mine is doing the same thing..
