hey all, ive got a bad situation. im looking to buy a s14........only thing is i live in montana. im about a 5 hour drive from the Canadian border, so we have our fair share of snow and winter stuff here. to all you snow drifters, my mom has been throwing a fit saying that a rwd car is going to do nothing but spin out on the snow and ice and whatnot (we do have plows here...........i think, but im not sure). she wants me to buy a corolla or an integra, something like that.i had a 240 when i lived in New Jersey and it snowed there and i had the most fun in the snow with my 240 than ive had in my life. and when i didnt want to scew around, i could get around, cause they have plows there. im buying the car, but i dont want to have ww2 in my house every time i pull up. how is having a 240 affected your daily driving life in the snow and cold weather of wherever you are? and is there any way besides getting winter tires, and maybe sway bars to help in the slush, to make the car a little more snow resistant if you do have problems. i just want my friggin 240!! thank you chris

touching the suspension will make it worse int he snow. not as much wieght will tranfer so the tires wont bite into the snow as well. with snow tires u should be fine otherwise snow sucks

I've never lost control in the snow (unless it was on purpose). and thats with dry/wet weather tires.

I would just reaseach on the best tires for that kind of weather. and definatly have a spare set of rims with snow tires for the winter...

P.S. dont ever drive on snow tires when there is no snow on the ground, bad bad bad ;)

one thing, i suggest getting a lsd for the snow. two wheels spinning is better than one...

My 240 never drives in the snow. That is why I have my Subaru. Nothing like doing Scooby Donuts in parking lots.

I have a SR20DET and I have never had a problem with the limited slip rear. Everyone says the LSD is better in those situations, but when I knew a kid with the SR20det and a lsd rear, all he did was spin his tires. I don't know, I have never had a problem in the snow/rain. You just have to take it easy and shift below 3500 to be safe. (well for the turbo anyway :-)
