ok First of I am "Big Papa Pimpin" in a 1993 240sx hatch manual w/standard ka some added options like cold air intake, etc.

Well for the past 2 weeks, I would get in, turn the key to on, wait a few seconds for the fuel pump to pressurerize, then turn the key to start. Normally when you turn the key to start, the motor would wind-up then fire up. Well, mine just fired up. So I drove it like that and every time for 2 weeks the car started like that.

Now, for this past week, when I turn the key to start, the motor would wind-up but never want to fire. I would have to turn the key back to off and then turn it to on, then start and while it is winding-up I would have to pump the gas pedal to get it to fire up and run.

I need some advice as to what is goin on. You guys have been the best source for technical stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

At first i'd only have to pump the gas pedal only in the morning after having the car sit all night. Now I have to pump the pedal everytime.

Seems like fuel pump/filter to me. When was the filter last changed?

I've never changed it since I bought it 2 years ago. So I'm gonna assume it has never been changed. But will a fuel pump or filter just go bad all of the sudden?

Any ways, whats a good brand to get? I hear alot about something called a 255 walboro pump or something like that. Any tips on what to look for?

Thanks a whole lot. You guys have been alot of help.

a walbro 255lph fuel pump and a z32 fuel filter would be good. Enjuku has the pumps for $90 and you can get the filter at your local parts store
