240 n00b

hey guys, i've been reading here for a while and i finally decided to post.

i just bought a 95 240sx SE.

it's riced out to the max, but i had a hell of a time finding one.

PROs:

*ADR Soduko 8 rims, 17"*Gutted Back Seat, PROPERLY COVERED*re-covered front seats/door inserts, black/red vinyl *short shifter/greddy shifter*monster tach (kinda iffy though. edging upon APC lameness)*Kumho Ecsta Supra tires (new) 215/225 front/rear*veilside style bodykit

Cons:

*ugly painted interior (i want to sand it down and paint it black again*needs body work to straighten out rear bumper/back end (no frame damage)*Needs engine work...i wanna do a swap but i donno if i can completely afford it*sound system is stock *crappy faceplate/ no subs**ricey neons inside *removing and selling promptly to ricerboy at my school**clutch is blown, shifter seems a little iffy...may need new bushings of some sort (jiggles up and down a little too much in neutral)*LOTS of body work needed on the kit to make it look good

right now i need advice on fixing the interior...

i'll post pics asap, but how should i go about taking off the ugly crappy paint?

sand it down and repaint it properly? black of course...

help me please!

Remove all the painted pieces.... chances are it is the entire center console and around the vents and door handles... right?

The center console is cake to take apart. The plastic around the shift boot pops staight up, as does the plastic around the center vents and temp conrols. Removing the two 'button' looking pieces of plasic (one on either side of hazzard and rear defrost buttons) will make it easier to pop that piece out. Also, I believe there are two screws behind there that need to be removed to get the stereo frame and plstic facade out. Two more screws are located by the ash tray and lighter. Then take the stereo frame off of the plastic facade.

The doors are kind of a pain. You have to remove the door panels and unscrew the pieces from inside.

Once you have all the pieces removed.... sand them down to the bare plastic if possible. You REALLY need to make sure it is VERY smooth. Any imperfections will show. Then 2 coats of black or grey primer, 2 coats of black enamel or flat (depends on your preference) and multiple layers of clearcoat depnding on how shiny/finished you like it. Allow PLENTY of drying time between coats... patience will pay off big time!

GO out to a junk yard, find an SE and buy the rear anti-sway bar... swap the 5-lugs in, and while your at it... take the gauge cluster! VIOLA!!! Now you've got an SE!!! Well you would need the spoilers as well... but who cares about those!:D

where do i get paint from? ive seen it around once or twice but i dont remember where....

also, i found out it's got a tanabe exhaust (no cat...wtf?)

the bodykit is cool, i may keep it and have it molded in...

i'll take pics asap, theres ALOT of red paint on this one...lmao, alot of sanding and paint will be needed...it's got this cool leather/vinyl dash cover that was put in well as well as the recovered seats, also done well
