I recently purchased a 2022 Rogue that was originally delivered in Canada. The dealer had it advertised as the 3 cylinder turbo motor. When looking under the hood it has 4 coil packs and 4 exits on the exhaust manifold. Obviously a 4 cylinder non turbo engine.

So question is, what motor is it? All the US sites list the 3 cylinder only for 2022. I'm stumped. :gotme

Only the USDM T33 Rogues got the KR15 L3's. The whole rest of the world got normally-aspirated PR25 L4's. The USDM's only got PR's for the initial year of the T33 in 2021, after that they're all KR's. Bottom line is, there are no KR's in Canada except border-crossers. CADM cars all have the PR.

PS - That's up till '24, after that I think the world got the KR.

So is the PR25DD a good dependable motor?

Absolutely. It's been in the Altima since 2019, and the only knock I'd give it is that it's harder to work on than the old dependable QR25. It has both port and direct injection, so you don't get the carbon-crappy valve problems you see in most engines which only have DGI. The wife and I were discussing a T33 Rogue at one point, and I told her the only one I'd want to own is a '21 because I have zero love for the KR. The PR is excellent.

Thank you. Good to hear that. I love the vehicle so far but then started hearing stories about the CVT trans and the 3 cylinder motor failing. Hope it lasts a good long time for me.

The CVT is the new GE series and they're much more dependable than the old RE's. However, they're still CVT's and the rule is still, "Change the @#%& fluid." There are lots of threads in here about why. 30K is a good interval for most drivers.

My understanding was that Canada gets the 4 Cylinder in the S Model, all.others (SV, SL, Platinum) were the 3 Cylinder turbo. From 2022 on up. If you have a non S Model 2022 with a 4 Cylinder, that's different than what I was told.

Here is the Canadian 2022 spec sheet.

It is not badged anywhere as an S or an SE. Only badging is on the tailgate.
It says Rogue and AWD for the all wheel drive

No badge generally means an S model. Nissan started no-badging a lot of the S's with the gen6 Altima, and since then it's become standard procedure.
