My 19 Rogue SL’s (50K miles) rear AEB activates almost every time I go in reverse. Generally it will slam on the brakes after going 1or 2 feet. Sometimes it will do it again in another few feet. I have cleaned the sensors. Is there a way to swap in a new sensor to each of the 4 locations to find the bad one? Any other ideas. I don’t want to have to turn it off every time I start the car. Thanks.

It's a common feature for the Rogue to slam on the brakes for no apparent reason. Happened to my low mileage SV many times. Changing the sensors won't change much, as it's programmed to slam on the brakes even if there is literally nothing. I happened to get the habit of disabling these stupid sensors each time I reverse the vehicle.

The outboard sensors are the ones involved in RAB, they're more powerful than the inboard ones which are strictly for parking. Unless you can get hold of a scanner which can stream data from the Sonar C/U, there's no good way to know which one is faulty, but I'd suggest buying one of the outboards and take a guess. If the system still falses, swap it to the opposite side. If it still falses, the problem is wiring or the C/U.

Thanks for the replies. This is an issue that started about a month ago. Is there an decent aftermarket source for these or do you recommend oem?

I know the aftermarket makes the regular parking sensors but I'm not sure about the RAB jobs. Your best bet is to visit NissanPartsDeal.com and give it your VIN. Their dbase is the same as Nissan's, so you can be sure you're getting the right Nissan part number specific to your ride. Then use the number to search for aftermarket equivalents.
