After 6 months or so my daughters Rogue would not start. After a day or so it would start.
the issue is not the starter or the battery or anything that displays a code.
The starter just doesn't turn over. The issue is not mechanical. The first time it happend the car was parked as always in her driveway, a family member who has a towing service, checked the battery, starter cables etc and connected an OBD Code reader (none were recorded) went to help her couple of days later and it started as normal.
Ok, so, it happend again about a month later with the same results, no issues found and again the car started .
1 more time, this time the vehicle was towed to a certified service center recommended by the warrantee company and we just got the results after 3 days of testing and inspection of the starting system etc including the FOB. Same result. The car started without any issues and no codes were availble.
One thing all 3 times have in common. The car is parked at the same location, also, it only happens when she is at home and, on a weekend.
Any suggestions? The time frame between failures are a month. The rest of the time, car in the same place etc, all goes well. She will pick up her car from the service center later today or tommorow for sure.

What are the symptoms when it no-starts? If there's a single, solid "click" from the starter when the key is turned (or button pressed, as the case may be), the issue is probably worn out starter brushes making intermittent contact.

when the key is inserted, the lights and evertything else is on but, when the key is turned to the start position, there is no single click or anything else, the staryer does nothing however, the car has been taken to a ceritfied service center and ther is no problem with the starter or the wiring to the starter. Also, a new starter was installed in August 2024.
The car has failed 3 times with the the same symptoms, each time the starter does nothing but, a day or 2 later it will start. The problem only happens when the car is parked in the driveway, on a weekend and what appears to be on a shedule. The car has not failed to start anywhere else, work, or ball games or store etc.
The most recen was last Saturday, the car was towed from the driveway to a different service center and the car started and nothing was changed. And, again evrything was tested and retested and started 20 times in a row without any problems.
Possibly, the Key FOB?

No, on cars with an ignition cylinder the radio portion of the fob has nothing to do with starting. That's for pushbutton (I-Key) cars only. The jackknife fobs do have an RFID circuit inside, but it's passive (doesn't need battery power). You'd be getting a red "key" lamp if that was the issue, and it wouldn't prevent cranking, just starting.

Do the lights dim out when it does this, or do they stay lit with no reaction at all? If it's the former then I'm afraid your new starter (which was likely a reman and not new) may be defective, or you have a crappy connection that the shop missed. If it's the latter then it could still be a bad solenoid in the new starter, but it could also be a bad ignition switch or a sticky relay in the IPDM. You really need to catch it in the act and get a test lamp on the solenoid terminal to see if it's getting juice when the key is turned. If it is then you know your new starter is defective, if it isn't then you know the problem is upstream.
