Eneos all the way. I’ve been slowly doing drain and fills in the rogue that had eneos eco using oem and idemitsu, which I think is oem. The trans is definitely louder. Eco is getting hard to find, so if you can swing it, buy all they have. When I dropped the pan in my rogue 6 qts got it done, if memory serves. It was also all for nothing, same with that stupid impossible filter. They were both very clean. Then again, I do more drain and fills than the average owner.nabril wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:38 amthanks again V, and good tip on using intake cleaner.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:15 amFor FWD there's no transmission case or rear diff, so when you change the CVT fluid you're also changing the front diff fluid, it's all integrated. Intake cleaner is a better choice for cleaning the screen, Brakleen leaves a residue. Unless you find anything bigger than fine shavings on the pan magnets, leave the paper filter alone, it won't be clogged and isn't worth all the PITA.
I am going to attempt a dual fill this time. Will 6.5 quarts be sufficient (I have 1/2 left over)? I'll use 3 and a bit for both fills. Or should I get a 7th just in case?
Amazon has the Nissan ns3 for $15+ per quart, which isn't bad, but Napa has the Eneos for $12... Hmmm
Vstar. I ask again to clarify.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 8:15 amFor FWD there's no transmission case or rear diff, so when you change the CVT fluid you're also changing the front diff fluid, it's all integrated. Thanks again V for clarifying. In the comments of the video further down, he repeats what you said above that FWDs do not have a transfer case (front differential) or a rear differential. Simply changing the trans oil and dropping the pan to clean it and the magnets is enough.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 10:36 amThe rear diff automatically means it's AWD, FWD's don't have one. What he drained up front was the tran-sfer case, which on AWD's is tacked onto the passenger side of the transmission but has separate fluid. FWD's don't have that either. Being a FWD, none of that is applicable to your ride.
I added this as you thumbed.
CorrectVStar650CL wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 11:10 amI'm not sure what you mean. The screen itself doesn't have a gasket, it uses an o-ring. If you're talking about the pan gasket, the factory gaskets are either paper (which usually comes off clean and can be reused with a little sealer) or nothing (they use hybrid RTV form-a-gasket).
