2017 Sentra sr turbo 6 manual speed manual trans fluid?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Does any one know for sure what trans fluid is needed for a 17 Sentra sr turbo 6 speed? I’ve called 3 dealer shops and no one will tell me. Is this the same trans that’s in one of the 6 speed jukes? And if it is the same trans does anyone know which sub model juke it’s the same as? The nismo or the rs? I’m at 50k miles and I’ve wanted to change it for the last 20k but can’t find which fluid. Not sure if gl4 gl5 or the kind made for limited slip positractions. My gear shifts are getting super notchy.

From the ESM. The "or equivalent" is the important part, any 75W80 that explicitly says on the label that it meets/exceeds the Nissan TL/JR standard is fine:

• Genuine NISSAN Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) TL/JR Type 75W80, or equivalent
• If Genuine NISSAN Manual Transmission fluid (MTF) TL/JR Type is not available, API GL-4+, Viscosity SAE 75W-80 may be used as a temporary replacement. However, use Genuine NISSAN Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) TL/JR Type as soon as it is available.

Awesome is this the same process on the 2014 or so Juke? I read you have to pull the inner fender well off to get to it and use a pump to get the fluid back in basically?

Also what is the suggested interval for changing this fluid? I’m at 50k and it feels long overdue I’m also on the same spark plugs at 50k I had one dealer tell me they were 100k spark plugs and another tell me change them at 30k because it’s a turbo car

Same tranny as the FWD Juke, yes. AWD was different.

Nissan recommends it every 10K, but for what's basically hypoid gear oil, that's very extreme. I'd say 50K is probably appropriate unless you're really hard on it.

It's true that turbos are a little harder on the plugs, and it also depends which brand Nissan gave you. Densos are hotter but erode quicker, NGK's have harder electrodes and last longer but often won't start a flooded engine. Replacement choice is up to you, Nissan uses both brands in various engines. Neither one will be shot at 30K, but if your originals are Densos then 60K is probably appropriate. NGK's will go 100K in almost anything, turbo-or-not. If you really don't want to replace them again anytime soon, NGK's new ruthenium plugs are supposed to have double the lifespan of iridiums with no decrease in performance. We haven't seen enough of them yet to evaluate the claims, but I also haven't heard anything bad or contradictory.
