My 2016 rogue has the collision avoidance warning light on and the climate control panel is totally off. There is also a single audible tone when I start the car. This happened out of nowhere as I drove the car earlier today without any issues. I am thinking fuse but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Fuse #20 in the cabin fusebox supplies the brake pedal position switch for the ADAS in addition to the Front Air Control. That's your most likely culprit.

Weirdest thing. I started the car today and no issues at all. Do you still think it could be the fuse?

probably - camera/sensors are dirty or their wiring has cracks >> gets wet etc

Camera/sensor was an initial thought of mine as will but I'm not sure what the sensor for collision avoidance system has to do with the climate control panel. That's what's really throwing me through a loop.

It doesn't. Take a look at the SMJ and adjacent connectors in the kick panels on both sides, make sure you don't have a water intrusion issue.

SMJ=super multiple junction? I am not familiar with the term so I searched online.

I'll check for water intrusion but it's been dry for a while. Doesn't rule it out, just makes it less likely.

Correct. There are also a bunch of smaller connectors in the same area, especially on the driver's side. There was actually a recall for the one closest to the floorboard, intrusion is pretty common in that area even in vehicles with no sunroof:

there is no like button on this forum - but thanks !!!!!! :D
is this the same issue/solution as with "can connectors failing" (read somewhere online that that is typical and people just solder wires together, deleting connectors, but wasn't been able to find proper list of those problematic can connectors).

Thanks! I will need to check that area out and also see if the car has been in for the recall inspection. The issue has not happened again since the other day but it is clearly something I need to diagnose as to why it happened the first time. More to come...

There's a complete FSM here for your '16. The harness layouts will be here:

Connector pinouts are found in individual wiring diagrams in the individual sections.
