Seal leak was fixed with new oem axle and new oil seal. The leak I am talking about is the verry bottom of the transfer case where the cover meets the transfer case itself.
I cleaned it previously really good and even broke out a small tooth brush to get all the spots in that area. After driving 200km I can see a small build up in that exact spot that I circled. Very minor amount. I do not see it coming from anywhere else.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 6:49 amThose o-rings practically never leak, you're right that it would be very uncommon. The first thing I'd do is clean up the area and add some UV dye to the transfer case, to verify where the leak is coming from. If the guys who did your axle cracked the case or something, you need to know about it before you tear it down replacing a gasket.
it looks like "top" part of casing has U-shaped cutout... either disassemble and put some sealant there or clean it and put some sealant from outside...darrylwmiller wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 5:45 pmSeal leak was fixed with new oem axle and new oil seal. Thank you, will give that a shot. Any particular kind of sealant you think would work best?V6er wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:08 pmit looks like "top" part of casing has U-shaped cutout... either disassemble and put some sealant there or clean it and put some sealant from outside...darrylwmiller wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 5:45 pmSeal leak was fixed with new oem axle and new oil seal.
