Car: 2015 Nissan Rogue SL AWD Premium Black/Almond

Post

Just picked up my 2015 Black/Almond SL AWD Premium Package yesterday. Additions were the auto-dimming mirror with Homelink (added at dealership), Chrome rear bumper protector, rear cargo cover, & splash guards (didn't want the cargo cover and bumper protector, but they came on the vehicle). Car had 43 miles on it, as it was a swap from one dealer to another.

2 different people at the dealership gave me 2 different answers as to how to "break in" the engine. I noticed that the difference between 50 mph and 80 mph was about 1500 RPM, so I figured I'd just drive it. I'm guessing the first 43 miles between dealerships were stop and go due to their locations, and the first 20 or so that I personally put on it were the same. Then, the remaining 305 miles home from the dealer were done at speeds up to 80 mph (mostly 45-80 mph), keeping up with traffic. So, I'm wondering, if the engine is constantly trying to stay in it's sweet spot of around 2000 rpm anyway, then what difference in road speed does it really make when "breaking it in"?

While driving the 330 miles home, the average mpg quickly went from 24.9 to 27.7mpg. I filled it up along the way to test the accuracy of that reading, and it was spot on right down to the 1/10th of a gallon (136miles & 4.902 gallons of gas at the first rest stop). I'm curious though...how often does the computer check your average mpg and make changes on the display? Is it every so many miles, or possibly every so many gallons of fuel used, or is it by time, or something else?

Curious about the "handles" for the Divide-N-Hide...
Mine came with none. The dealer checked all the 2015s he had on the lot. None had them! I also don't see any place under the larger panel section to store them even if it did come with them. There ARE two recessed spots under the cover that look like something could/should have been attached there, but there is no bracketry of any sort underneath. Has anyone received the handles with their 2015? Are the 2015s supposed to come with handles, or have they been deleted?
The dealer ended up giving me 2 handles from an almond 2014, which do fit the square holes on top of the cover, but there's no place to store them underneath, and the color although close, is slightly off.

TPMS...on the way home, after about an hour of driving, I switched to the TPMS screen. I noticed that the fron tires were both at 38 psi., while the rears were both at 36 psi. Further along, they were all sitting at 36 psi, both front and rears. I'll have to go out today and check them on both the dash and with a tire pressure gauge just to verify actual pressure. Just curious if that sounds normal that the tires would go up that much during driving (if they actually were inflated to the proper pressure to start with), and if it's normal that the fronts would be 2 psi higher than the rears one moment, and then then the same pressure later? I figure that if anything they would go up and down at the same rate.

What is the purpose of the tethers on the Divide-N-Hide? Is it to stop them from becoming airborne in a collision? They seem to really hinder me from moving the bigger panel to the upper position, without some crazy twisting and maneuvering. Also, the rear cargo mat protectors (was only expecting the 4 piece set, not the 6 piece set) seem to get in the way when trying to slide the panel into the slots. Very strange. Oh, and if anyone is wondering, all of the almond interior 2015s that I've seen have charcoal mats on the floor, and almond mats in the cargo area. Seems Nissan did away with the almond floor mats. So, what is the straps' purpose, and how many of you have removed them?

When I looked at the lift gate of the vehicle, I noticed that there is no blue badge (forgot what it says) under the SL AWD lettering on the lower right side. Has that badge also been deleted from the 2015 models?

Can't answer your specific 2015 questions, but on my 2014 I removed the straps and the metal connectors because I also found them cumbersome.

TPMS isn't that useful unless you have done your own cold fill as a baseline. My individual pressures do seem to vary by +/- 2 psi (my 18" tires have a 33 psi target) over the course of a trip, so I wouldn't be too concerned. Depending on your driving certain tires can absolutely heat and cool at different rates, but I don't think the sensors are accurate to anything closer than that +/- 2 psi. I end up putting air in my front tires more frequently than my rear. I assume it is because of heavier load over the front (I also have a lot of speed bumps on my work campus).

2015 SV with Premium, here! (Red w/ Almond)

I believe mine updates while I'm driving. I only kept the "default screen" as the MPG screen the first couple days I drove it and it was changing as I drove. Since I don't have that as my default, I just see the MPG update when I turn off the Rogue.

I have this exact same "problem", exactly as you described it. (I actually started a thread about this, but no help...) When I took it to my local Nissan, they thought what I thought. That they just weren't installed and it was a dealer mistake. So I called the dealership I bought my Rogue from (hour and a half away) and he said he would "look into it" and I haven't heard back from him. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be included, but with you noticing that too I'm wondering. I'm thinking I could call the dealership back and see if I can just get some handles like you did.

I know mine have changed by a few while I was driving, I figured this was either because of temperature, how I was driving, or just the sensor correcting it's initial estimate. I think last time I checked both passenger ones are the same and the driver's side two are the same, but sometimes when I flip to that screen all 4 are the same or one off. So yeah, I think that's normal? (Or at least nothing that made me suspicious?)

I honestly have not figured out the straps' purpose, because I agree, with them attaching it IS a crazy twisting movement. (Sometimes I can get it one go, usually when people are watching it's the crazy "no I promise I know how to do this!" manuevering.) I figured it was what you said, a safety feature so the whole shelf doesn't fall off.

And yeah, I've read that from other people about the lack of almond mats. That's another thing my dealership said "they'd look into", but I haven't heard back. I don't really care, because I got some weathertech digital mats and love them. They're a little darker than the almond interior, but I actually like them that way!

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Is it this? >> http://cimg.carsforsale.com/338349/FA3F ... 471E_4.jpg (I can't tell what it says, but that's the closest picture i could find.) Because my '15 doesn't have that (just the "SV AWD"), so I'm guessing it was deleted.

Edit: I think this is a better photo >> http://images.dealerfire.com/stock/3553 ... 29076f.jpg (still can't see what it says though! Haha!)

It says "Pure drive" and it's a 100% useless and meaningless badge. I'm glad they removed it for 2015.

what do you mean by "handles"? I picked up my 2015 SL 2 weeks ago, and I have 2 plastic pieces covered with almond cloth that sit in the back. They both have a large handle along the front. Is that what you mean?

Just picked up my 2015 SV AWD from the dealer a few days ago, and mine had the blue Pure Drive badge on the back (Ontario, Canada).
