Hello all,
My wife and I bought NEW 2015 Rogue back in October. The bluetooth was faulty before we drove it off the lot. They ordered a new radio from Nissan. Part arrived, and was installed. 4 days later the XM went out due to an expired subscription. After a call to XM, they verified that the 'new' radio was from a 2014 Rogue and was previously registered to someone else! So after several irate calls to the dealership, and to corporate, they confirmed that it is Nissan's policy to install refurbished radios in ALL radio replacements. EVEN if the car is brand spanking new. They gave me an 8yr warranty on the radio, and I guess that's good. But it REALLY REALLY bothers me that they're willing to put USED parts in NEW cars. :bs:

Just thought I would share this with everyone.

Are you talking about XM service or nissanconnect service? If XM is expired then something's wrong because it's a totally different unit and not integrated in the radio. You can replace the radio but XM unit is still the same. Check again with your dealership because XM unit got nothing to do with the radio. Hope it helps.

Mine (Rogue'14) was replaced with new one and another 3 months of XM radio. Nothing changed after replacement.

Sorry, but that's not correct. The XM registration ID number is tied to the player, in this case the head unit, not the separate satellite receiver. The head unit in my 2011 had to be replaced due to a faulty USB port. The separate satellite receiver was not replaced, but I had a new radio ID that I had to give to SiriusXM in order to reactivate my service. Oh, and the replacement unit was previously registered to someone else (and no, I wasn't informed the replacement was a refurbished unit).

@ Pookh007, as you're currently under the free service with SiriusXM, then yes it would appear that nothing has changed.

By quickly checking out google, ebay and other sides of web seems to be that applies only to high-tech radios such as made by bosch. Otherwise IT IS a separate unit like this one is originall off Rogue:

Or this one for aftermarket Pionner:

etc...etc...etc...
P.S. My radio was replaced half a year ago and I didn't have to reactivate the XM radio. ID was the same...

To Rogue One
By nothing changed I meant: I had problems with radio, text messages and etc. Those problems still exist even after replacement. My free XM radio was expired before replacement after it I have 3months again.Radio ID is new.

Never said it wasn't a separate unit. Please re-read my previous post, carefully. Only my head unit was replaced, nothing else.

Were you under the free trial listening service at the time of replacement? It is not necessary to register your unit to receive the free trial service signal. If you want to continue using the unit after the free trial listening service ends, then you have to register you radio ID with SiriusXM.

AFAIK, the first and second gen Rogue systems should essentially be configured the same way. This is borne out by that fact that both I and Pookh007 had our head units replaced, and had new radio ID's. Leo, if your ID didn't change, it can only mean one of two things: 1) You never registered the ID from the first unit, OR 2) Your dealership didn't replace the unit, just said they did.

No. My free trial expired in March and radio was replaced in July. But it did mess up my account with Nissan Connect and even Nissan could not help me resolve this issue without another trip to the dealership because they had to provide a new serial number off the unit to Nissan Connect.

1. It was registered. 2. Very possible and can't say much about it. I had a problem with the screen that turned purple and after "replacement" of the radio the scratches that I had on the screen are disappeared. It is very possible that they simply replaced the faceplate...the only question after all would be why nissan connect stopped recognizing my unit's serial number after that?
