i was wondering if anyone knew if the 2013 versa sedan base with manual lock had the power locking mechanism like the other years. or how i could find out. all data doesnt have 2013. i called the dealer but they wont be back until monday. i have an installer to put in a keyless entry into the car for a good deal but i would rather use the factory mechanism rather then cut the cables up and mount all that stuff in the door. just more to go wrong. thanks

I called the dealer and he was no help. They wouldnt even put anything aftermarket in. And he didnt seem to know for sure but thought nissan wouldnt put a electronic mechanism in their manual cars. So I guess the only way to find out is take the door cover off. Maybe ill buy a kit with everything and then when the installer removes the cover make a decision.

Not sure if anyone is following this but i thought it post an update. i removed the door myself a couple days ago to see if the motor was built into the lock. i didnt see anything. i had everything apart and i didnt see a electrical connector at all. there seemed to be a hole in the locking mechanism but i dont think the motors are installed. but i did see the orientation of the cables and the spacing. there looked to be enough space to put the solenoids in. so i will move forward with the installer i talked to a couple of weeks back. i try and post an update after he's done and let you know if the job turned out good.

I just now saw this...

You've already figured it out, but nope - they don't add anything like that on the base model.

If you had electric locks, but not keyless entry, that's not hard to do.

If you wanted to wait a bit, you could probably get the mechanisms from a junkyard Versa... but there again, big job.

We have the Factory Service Manual available if you need it, btw. Welcome aboard!

You probably do have room to add the requisite parts. If you've got the time and the know-how (or dogged determination) this would be an interesting project. ... Here in the Versa forum several people have done some pretty outrageous modifications to their Versas...

Just have fun with it and post your progress (or ask for pointers). Many of the people from the other forums (or who use the Versa as a daily driver but modify other Nissans) pop over to help out with questions or provide feedback on occasion (which is really nice of them).

Hi all! I'm curious as to how the install went. I just bought a 2013 S Plus with manual locks and want to add keyless entry. If anyone is still watching this thread and could give some advice, would much appreciate it!
