I have a flashing airbag light. When I took it to the dealer, it was diagnosed with a defective occupant seat sensor. It is a ridiculous $3000 repair.

Looking at alternatives, I discovered the airbag360 solution for $100. It is a device that tells the computer that there is a passenger - always. If there is an accident, the airbag would be triggered. I installed this device easily.

Next challenge. The airbag light on the dash is now a solid color. It does not blink (occurred after I took it to the dealer for diagnosis). I read that I could reset the light using a foxwell nt630 plus airbag reader. I bought one, plug it in but it says that it cannot read the airbag codes in my 2013 Rogue. Now I am lost on what to do next.

Anyone out there who had a similar issue? What did you do to reset a solid non-blinking airbag light on the dashboard?

On a gen1, a solid lamp means either a blown fuse for the Bag Brain or a Bag Brain that's incommunicado (not talking to the CANbus). That's why your scanner isn't connecting.

Thanks. Let me look at the fuse 1st. Hopefully, that is it.

You are a genius, VStar650CL. Thanks so much for the tip. I took out the 10 amp airbag fuse and sure enough, it is blown. Once I replace it with a new fuse, the airbag light disappeared. There are no codes.
:)
The annoying red flashing airbag light on the dash also disappeared. So the airbag360 sensor installation was successful. The passenger airbag yellow light is OFF indicating that there is an adult always sitting in my passenger seat. That is good news for others with the same occupant sensor problem.

You saved me another trip to the stealership. They would have charged me another $150 for diagnosis and to replace the blown fuse.

Happy to help. I once had a compatriot who heard the fans light up on a no-crank Maxima and assumed out-of-hand that the ECM was blown. What was actually wrong was a rodent-chewed wire that blew the ECM fuse. That poor customer paid about $900 for no good reason, and I never let anyone in this shop forget about it. First rule of almost any electrical malfunction, check the damn fuse.

Awesome advice, VStar650CL. You work in a shop - no wonder you are so knowledgeable. The 2013 Rogue is my daughter's car. Many thanks from her too.
