Hello! New user here. I am purchasing a 2011 Infiniti M37 soon. I have a few 2012 and one 2013 in my radar but the 2011 is a terrific deal.

Question 1: I am curious if there are any significant differences between the 2011 M37 and new M37 years such as a 2013, 2014 or even the new Q70. The car I am considering has the premium and deluxe touring packages. Anything noteworthy would be nice to know! (i.e. were there kinks in 2011 that were worked out in 2012/2013?)

Question 2: How would you rate the Deluxe Touring Bose system over the non-option/base sound system? How about the interior quality differences?

I currently have a 2006 G35 coupe and did this comparison before I bought it. It paid off because even though a 2003 and 2006 G35 are considered 'first generation', there is a huge interior and exterior difference for these two years.

There's no visual difference between 2011 M and newer models (excluding Q70). The only way to tell them apart from the outside is the sonar sensors in the bumper, which I believe 2011 and 2012 didn't come with. I think two of the colors were eliminated for 2013, so that's another way to narrow down the year (blue slate and harbor blue were eliminated I think). I don't know of any interior differences. Q70 was a bit refreshed, new facia/bumper, rear deck/trunk, lights, DRL, grill.

Thanks for the quick reply! One other question: Is there an AUX input capability for the 2011 M37?

I only recall seeing a USB input which will not work for my streaming of Slacker and Pandora from my Android mobile. I know there is Bluetooth audio capability but without the radio having aptX capability the quality is sacrificed.

AH....., but you can capture streaming music on your computer from Pandora or Jangle using a capture software such as ReplayMusic7. You then load that music onto a thumb drive and you have many hours of non commercial music which you can play, or shuffle. It works great. I have about 3000 songs in 4 different categories on my 8GB thumb drive so when we travel cross country we enjoy uninterrupted commercial free music. This has replaces Serius/XM Radio.

I only like the m37s body ,sport bumper etc.I don't like the q70.since it's like a q50 spinoff.and the q50 looks like an accord...yikes! That being said.sport ftw

I've got a '12. Only thing I'm missing that I think I would have liked is 'google send to car'. As far as I can tell, that's a feature that started in '13. If I'm wrong, I would love for someone to tell me how to do that though.

I went from a 2006 G35 Sedan to a 2011 M37x with the deluxe/touring/tech etc... I couldn't ask for more features. Rides great... runs great... no rattles. I love it. I'd just make sure to check service records and get the extended warranty.

I have a 2013 M37 and love it! Only have the premium package, no tech or sport package.

The differences I am aware of in the 2013 over the 2011-2012 are:

Rear sonar - not sure if this could be optioned into a 2011-2012 but I know the base and premium packages at least did not have it. all 2013+ models have it

Infiniti Connection - (SOS button by the sunroof buttons and Infiniti connection options on the nav). This is a paid subscription similar to onStar (http://www.motorwerksinfiniti.com/infiniti-connection/). However the system uses GSM-based 2G provided by AT&T. AT&T already announced they are shutting off 2G at the end of 2016 so this Infiniti connection system may be useless after this date anyway. Infiniti has offered no word on any update plans but they do mention AT&T cutoff for this service as Dec 31, 2016. the odd thing is they are still selling infiniti connection with 2G on the 2015 models too. So they are selling a service with a known expiration date of less than 2 years.

Automatic latch for the trunk - softly set trunk lid down and trunk latch automatically pulls it fully shut

Auto-dimming side mirrors.

New updated microphone for bluetooth phone calling. This is actually updateable at the delear via a TSB (ITB11047) on 2011--2012 models but the 2013+ models have the new microphone by default

There may be others but those are some of the differences I know of

My wife streams Pandora via Bluetooth from her iphone and it sounds pretty good, better than satellite. You should try streaming with the Android to be sure of quality.

Hmmm, almost all I've listened to since buying the car was Pandora via Bluetooth. It has sounded pretty damned good to me. But now that I know I'm missing something I'll be banging my head against a wall trying to solve what I didn't know I was missing.
