So I picked up my Spec-V last weekend and it has been a blast so far!!! What have you guys experienced as far as the break in on these engines? I am varying the speed (city driving) and trying to keep it under 4k rpm (every once and a while it might hit 5 :D). I might just be paranoid, but is it really necessary for me to be watching my tachometer like a hawk until 1200 miles?

I have heard some people say that a lot of the new cars don't even need a break-in period but I'm from the old school so I've always done it and it seems to work. I have an 09 Sentra S, took it easy for the first 2500 miles and now it's around 22k and runs like a dream so I don't see any harm in babying it for the first 3 months or so and then you can really push it after that.

Ya that is what I figured. Might just have to take a mini trip to put some miles on it when I'm still conscious of the break in haha.

I didn't really know about this, but I did take a trip that was like a 5-6 hour drive both ways in like the first week.. I'll count that as my "break-in".
