Nala, I can't put you on the paddock/track list, because you're a minor. But you're absolutely welcome to come hang out at the NICOfest tent which is just outside the paddock and spectate. You won't be permitted inside the paddock or on track. Sorry.

DJ Button did indeed have you on the list, but it's no problem checking in.

John ShueyI'll be there for the autocross.

I got some questions too. I am kinda confused on the costs. I understand that there is no fee to participate in the autocross if you post here. I understand that it costs some $20 to get into the Carlisle Fairgrounds. But I read about some $50 fee to get your car in the Fairgrounds if you wanna "show it". Do you need to pay that fee if you plan on autocrossing?

Do you have any overview pictures of what the track looks like and where is the track on the fairgrounds? I've looked on the Carlisle website and I haven't found anything.

There was a question earlier in the thread about passengers and it was said that it would be discussed later when the event is closer. Have you made a decision on passengers yet? I have a couple friends who want to try autocrossing but they don't really want to try it without someone there helping them out. It would be really nice to have someone in the car with the new guys to help navigate the course and such. If you wont allow passengers, will you at least have instructors there that day?

Thanx, hope to see you all there.

John, $20 is for walk-in entry. If you plan to autoX, you have to pay the $50 show entry price to bring your car in.

Here is a satellite view of the track. During the weekend, we will have cones set up on the track to add more turns to make it a bit trickier.http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&z=18

The track is just above where the tree line is in that photo.

How epic it would have been if the satellite had taken the photo during the actual event. You would be able to see the massive divots in Turn 1 from the drift events :uhuh

You're on the list. To add to what Torry said, The track/paddock/NICOFest area are located on the north side of the property, beside the PA turnpike. So when you come through the Fairgrounds entrance you drive straight past the buildings, turn left and go to the end. You can't miss us.

The track is more technical than a typical parking lot autocross course because there are some nice camber changes. For the autocross, it's two laps per run clockwise. Although there are a LOT of turns, you'll find the course is pretty easy to follow and fun. We do not enforce the rule that if you knock down a cone, you owe the corner worker a beer. But you do get a 1 second penalty for each one knocked down.

I think there's a youtube video earlier in this thread with someone running the autocross course last year.

As far as passengers, the original question was if non-staff could take passengers. The answer is no decision has been made yet. But our staff, particularly the ones that are familiar with the course will take passengers and offer tips. I also run a few test laps before each autocross session, I also don't mind taking a passenger whose looking to get familiar with the course. FYI, catching a ride with AZHitman or Ezcheese15 is worth the price.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Joel -

FWIW, if you're looking for tips on getting around the auto-X course the fastest, ride with Torry... If you wanna destroy some cones, trash cans, and wandering wildlife (and maybe puke on your shoes), I'm your Huckleberry.

Ok, I needs to register one more. My wife wants to learn to drift. She goes to all the events I go to and is very supportive of all my time in thegarage so lets see if we can help get her sideways. I will be registering here for both the drift and the autocross. Her name is Mary B Lavertue (Bard) she will be driving our 91 240sx. The Z wont be finished in time so I will also be driving the 240. Thanks for bringing such a good event within range of us!
