Nope, no driver limit. It'll be similar to last year, "Featured" drifters mixed in with NICOnauts plus any last minute walk-ins from the show). We have flexibility to extend or add drift sessions if there are a lot more drifters that want to run. But we must also be fair to those that are coming just to autocross. There are more autocrossers expected this year too.starkos14 wrote:hey bubba, just curious, is there a driver limit? i have a feeling you will have at least double to triple the amount of drivers as last year... i mean, i might expect you to see about 30 from my site alone. carlisle is buzzing about like no other around my forums... if i were you, i would highly consider reorganizing the drift sessions due to high amounts of drivers. like a lap limit and driver limit by the day. we all want to get in as many hits as possible. also, tandem should be allowed for any car with a cage... it can also help move the line along with 2 cars on the course. any tandem should be discussed between both drivers before hand of course, but i think the option should still be there.
With literally hours of drift (and autocross) time over two days, I think everyone will get as in as many runs as they want.
As far as more than one car on the track drifting at a time. I don't see that as a problem for experienced drivers like you just as long as both drivers are agreeable to it up front. I think it would be best handled on a case by case basis.
As far as individual drift run time limits. The featured drivers have no restrictions. If we see a huge drift line develop, yes, we might go for shortened individual runs (possibly a time limit), or extend the session to get as many out folks out on track as possible. If by chance someone doesn't make it out for a drift session that they wanted to go out, we'll make sure they're out on track early for the next session. We'll have to see how things develop.
I hope that helps.
