starkos14 wrote:hey bubba, just curious, is there a driver limit? i have a feeling you will have at least double to triple the amount of drivers as last year... i mean, i might expect you to see about 30 from my site alone. carlisle is buzzing about like no other around my forums... if i were you, i would highly consider reorganizing the drift sessions due to high amounts of drivers. like a lap limit and driver limit by the day. we all want to get in as many hits as possible. also, tandem should be allowed for any car with a cage... it can also help move the line along with 2 cars on the course. any tandem should be discussed between both drivers before hand of course, but i think the option should still be there.
Nope, no driver limit. It'll be similar to last year, "Featured" drifters mixed in with NICOnauts plus any last minute walk-ins from the show). We have flexibility to extend or add drift sessions if there are a lot more drifters that want to run. But we must also be fair to those that are coming just to autocross. There are more autocrossers expected this year too.

With literally hours of drift (and autocross) time over two days, I think everyone will get as in as many runs as they want.

As far as more than one car on the track drifting at a time. I don't see that as a problem for experienced drivers like you just as long as both drivers are agreeable to it up front. I think it would be best handled on a case by case basis.

As far as individual drift run time limits. The featured drivers have no restrictions. If we see a huge drift line develop, yes, we might go for shortened individual runs (possibly a time limit), or extend the session to get as many out folks out on track as possible. If by chance someone doesn't make it out for a drift session that they wanted to go out, we'll make sure they're out on track early for the next session. We'll have to see how things develop.

I hope that helps.

what if driftpa makes a $20 donation to help feed shally's burger addiction? would that help push the burgers through?

Haha...donations are welcome, but it's more a matter of getting a grill to the track than buying the food.

Yeah, that would be great. If I remember right, we ran out last year and I had to go make a propane run in the middle of the day.

awesome, so you are bringing a tank too? i mean, I do have 2 tanks i could bring. I use propane to heat my garage all winter long. its super insulated, so it doesnt take much to heat, but I always have a backup.

Honestly I'm not sure. However, you can buy tickets at the gate, so if you are just coming to watch (and not driving), I'd recommend that. That way if there is a discount for kids, you'll find out for sure.

2 days of grilling, we'll probably go through a full tank and then some.

Yes, you'll either an SA2000 or M2000 rated helmet to run the course. Since it's almost 2010, you can pick up a sa/m2K rated helmet for almost next to nothing.

Aw Phuck!

I screwed up guys, I had a cruise booked for that weekend and didn't even realize it until recently- and I even made the reservation at the hotel!

Anyway, one more room opened up for that weekend, so grab is asap!

Also- someone grab Greg a sixer of Sam Adam's Hefenweizen for me and I'll pay you back.

some of the rentals might not be too shiny after being sacrificed... I remember hooters was a long drive, but I suspect the bar at the holiday inn will be hopping this year.
