As long as somebody gets me piss drunk on the night of the 9th (my BDay) I'm there! I've been looking to take the Titan on a road trip. Unfortunately I won't be drifting or auto-xing that.

I found a place that will rent me a CTS-V.

Think I may need to go "undercover" for this one.

Poor Caddy has no idea it's about to get treated like a drunk p0rn star in a frat house.

I am SO not feeling the love... after all I've done for you... *sniff*....

I am there... I took the weekend off!! The S14 is finally back on the road after 13 months, minus the turbo kit..

Can't wait to see everyone again!!

LBC, They're calling me with the room info tomorrow!!

Hopefully they're still doing the $29.99 per night.. if so, we'll hook it up like we did last year!!

Greg... I'll be there to help out again with whatever you need!! The band isn't playing this time.. lol

You might find someone that'll loan you one, but I wouldn't guarantee it'll happen. I hope you succeed, but I would recommend you try to buy one. They're not that expensive.

Thanks bubba--

For any of you out there that do a bit of autox and drift---

Will insurance cover if my car gets destroyed at Carlisle or any track for that matter? I've never taken my car on any track ever so forgive the noob question.

I would like to autox my coupe at carlisle and am just wondering how crazy I can be...

for drift you can't do much with the altima unless you get some diamonds coated lunch tray plates lol. but for auto cross I don't think you can crash your car even if you wanted too, so it's all good. if you do manage to crash (LOL) I guess your insurance's rates are going to go up lol (unless you got a special contract or something)

You'll have to review your own policy as far as whether it covers "track" events. Many basic policies don't. But as far as this autocross course goes , it has so many turns, you're not going to get out of second gear. So we're not talking the real high speed/high damage potential that you would find at Watkins Glen. There are a few spots on this course where the fence seems rather close, but with an unlimited number of runs available, you simply start slow, learn the nuances and "be careful" spots, and then build speed. I don't believe we've had any significant autocross accidents in two years. the only big fence impact we had last year was by Jason Ellis, a celebrity noobie drifter in a 500Hp Mustang who went way beyond his limit early on. He crinkled a quarter panel and kept going.

As far as going wild, Go as crazy as you want, as you'll have a big audience (especially during the drift sessions). We do draw the line at running over corner workerss, and we ask that you to try to keep your car on the pavement more than the grass, but the emphasis is on fun.

The rule for buying corner workers a drink for each knocked down cone during autocross has never been enforced. But if you're competitive, there is a 1 second time penalty for each cone toppled over or missed.

There are no classes or divisions, no restrictions, so it'll make for fun discussions when comparing times. Since this is a fairly tight technical course, high horsepower cars do not have a big advantage. In fact, some of the faster times last year were made by a small, stock, all season radial automatic Suzuki FWD 4 door rental car.

I hope that helps. There will be plenty of experienced autocrossers around to help you if you want it.

What I'm saying is with the right driver, any car can be the quickest.

ALSO, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL DRIFTERS, BEGINNER OR NOT TO DO AUTOCROSS AS WELL. IF YOU PUSH THE CAR CORRECTLY THROUGH THE AUTOX COURSE, IT WILL HELP YOU FIND LINES AND APPROPRIATE SPEEDS FOR DRIFTING THIS TINY TRACK. EVENTUALLY I WAS DRIFTING ALMOST THE WHOLE AUTOCROSS COURSE AND IT REALLY HELPED ME DEVELOP A FEEL FOR THE COURSE.

THE TRACK IS TINY AND IT SUCKS, BUT IT CAN BE A LOT OF FUN AND DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES CAN BE USED BECAUSE ITS SO TIGHT

Sacrificing rental cars is always fun.

Corey, if you come early, we'll gladly put you to work. There's plenty to do.We'll discuss specifics when it gets closer.

Ha. What I meant to say was in ldstang50's case, one day at Pocono + 2 at Carlisle equals 3 consecutive track days. I just looked at what I wrote and I see it looks wrong. My bad.

Ah...didn't catch that. So I guess it is 3 track days for him. Rock on! I've driven Pocono before. It was a great track! When I did it we did turn 1 of the tri-oval & infield.

Yeah, I'd like to try Pocono at some point. It's on my list. My new track to try this year is NJ Motorsports Park's Lightning. I did Thunderbolt for the first time last year and thought it was fun.
