I am pretty sure I send in the S30 flanges, but I took everything, just in case. I sent e-mails to Modern Motorsports asking them to return my calls because I have about a million questions, but they never return the calls. Their e-mails to me said to just order stuff that's the way they are set up to do business.Kinda sucks

It's still here...runs great. I really am amazed what a great daily driver it is. No starting problems, no leaks, everything works. I steal it from Cam every now and then just to get a few smiles.

We put a sub in the trunk so he can have his "bumps". He is taking off the snow tires and putting the rims back on this Friday.

A little update.

I decided to concentrate on getting the engine sitting in place. Then I can work on the radiator and FMIC stuff . So....I needed to get rid of the oil pan. The RB26 is out of an all-wheel drive car, so it has the extra bits attached to and going through the oil pan, drive shaft and differential. This is #2 son Evan helping. Makes the day a little more fun having both of them here.

I could not believe how much the pan weighs with all that stuff attached to it.

OK.. time for the left mount. Here is the stock mount for the R32 skyline.

Mckinney mount for 240Z.

Notice that the front turbo oil return line is very close to the mount. Stock setup will have to be modified to get some clearance. I was planning on some SS lines and banjo fittings for the supply anyway, just a little bump in the road.

Right side stock R32 mount.

Mckinney mount fit Perfect!

Here is the oil supply line restrictor I was looking for. It's in the "T" fitting on the block between the turbo's.

OK...everything ready.

It's not all that complicated really....I mean...It's just tubing....right?

If you divide it up into systems, it's not so hard to figure out. You got the water lines, vacuum lines, fuel lines.

I think I might go with a remote oil filter and a oil cooler rather than the stock water/oil heat exchanger.

OK. Need some preventive maintenance items.

New water pump. New belt pulleys and spring .

New belt

Hey, I'm actually putting something back together. Seems like I have been removing stuff forever. A new harmonic balancer. I picked up all that stuff off of Raw Brokerage. Coolwhip set me up. Everything is quality stuff. The engine is amazing.

We took the intake off and were on a roll but we ran out of parts.

I forgot to order the gaskets for the intake and ITB's. We stuck it on to see what it looked like.

What do you think?

I think it is F***ING awesome Gordon!

What are you going to do with the oil pan? I have read that RB25 pans have a couple bolt holes that don't line up with the RB26 and leaks are inevitable. From what I've heard, you have to cut the diff out of the RB26 pan and patch it up. Just wondered if you knew.

Keep up the good work, you are my hero!

The Z31 oil pan (p/n 11110-20P00) is a rear sump pan that works with the RB26/240Z. Unfortunatly, that part has been discontinued. I have located a vendor that can fab up a new 8 qt pan w/surg tank, baffles, and breather. I will post pictures as soon as it gets here.

An update.

The past week has been a little hectic. My new gages have been shipped from Speed hut and I need to get the dash ready for them. Once I get them installed and fitting correctly, I will be sending it out for refurb.

As you can see from the last picture, things get hot out in the desert. The wiring is ok, just the stuff that was close to, or touching the dash got really hot. Everything is out and ready for the gages.

Notice Japanese writing on lower dash. "Naka" which means "inside" ?!?

Anyway...Brake master out.

Pedal alignment, just in case.

I was getting the trany washed up and ready to install and noticed the pivot ball for the clutch arm was broken off. The arm must have been bumped during shipping. Had to order one of those, also got some intake manifold gaskets at the same time.

I have been looking for some fittings for the turbo's. Everything ordered and I will fab up some SS lines for them. I have been spending a lot of time on-line looking and finding RB parts. Hopefully...I can drop the engine in for a test fit soon.

I hope you ordered a grade 8 Nismo part. The factory grade 5 pivot bolts Love to snap when paired with anything stiffer than a factory clutch.

POOP! I ordered 30620-21U23. That is the stock one. I did get the twin carbonetics clutch. Got the street version, not the race, so hopefully it will last for a while. I never even thought about different grades being available.

While I am at it...Here is an update on my oil pan.

For those of you not aware, the RB26 needs a special pan for instillation in a 240Z. The Z31 pan (p/n 1110-20P00) was produced in limited numbers and is no longer in production and supplies have vanished. I have seeked the services of Rob at Rips. He has a few years of fab skills and he said he could solve all my problems with a custom pan. Besides, he's from New "Z" land. (sorry..had to).

It's high capacity w/surg tank, baffles, breathers, includes custom pickup and custom dip-stick

Here's Rob's car turning 7.86 sec 1/4 mile @ 177.4 MPH.http://www.ripsracing.com/movi....html

Web link >> http://www.ripsracing.com/index2.html

I think I got the oil pan covered.
