2008 Versa Front Liscense Plate Mount - NOOB Versa Owner.

Hello -

Noob here - I am waiting for delivery of my wife's new 08' Versa SL and I just thought of something. I am getting a dealer trade on the "V" my wife wanted (black,SL, sport, roof, rockford, ABS) and I am not sure where it is coming from - ie, state that requires a front plate.

Here in PA, we are not required to have front plates, so I do not want drill holes in my new front bumper. Can someone verify HOW the plate bracket is mounted to the car? Two screws, four? Etc....

We are looking forward to the car, but I am now pondering a call to the dealer.

yea 2 threw the front bumper and when you take it off it looks like ****... im still trying to find a way to fix it without making it look like crap... a whole new front bumper is too much $$$ to spend just for two holes... but call them and tell them that you dont want a front liscense plate on it

I haven't found it yet using the search function but it's been discussed here before. Some people have had fair success covering the holes with small circles cut from bumper stickers. Not a perfect solution by any means but it's pretty easy to find something on a bumper sticker that matches the color of the car so the holes aren't very obvious.

Personally I do like the plates in front. People can't park, especially @ Chinese malls ~_~ why my race can't follow instructions / guide lines is well beyond me. People do back right up to my front bumper while parking @_@ the front plates leaves 2 nice hexagonal holes right into their plastic bumpers.

I made a call and left a message. It depends on the dealership, but if the car was on the lot in a state that requires the front plate, I am sure there will be a plate bracket. The car is being picked up and deliverd to us tomorrow, so I will be waiting for the call.

It's not my solution. I have the front license pate on mine. Plugging the holes with adhesive circles was something that was discussed last year sometime.

That's the second time I've been called ghetto for the same suggestion! What can I say, I'm a computer programmer and live in the country, but my white bumper looks unblemished until you get pretty close, and I've still got plenty of bumper sticker left!

If it comes with the holes drilled in the bumper, tell the dealer to fix it for you prior to delivery, unless the black colour "hides" the holes...Here in Alberta, no front plate as well. My bracket kit that came with the car is sitting on the shelf...
