2007 G35 Navigation System

Hi...I'm planning to buy a 2007 G35 with Nav System. Does anyone know if the Nav System is upgradeable? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have an '06 with Nav. The Navigation runs off of a DVD player in the dash. To upgrade, you just insert the latest disc. For example....in 2010, I just have to insert the 2010 Nav disc, which will be availabel at the dealer for a ridiculous amount of money, or you can find someone with a 2010 that is nice enough to allow you to burn a copy of their Nav disc. You can sometimes find them on Ebay too, but not cheap...and all they are selling is a copy most of the time, and they want a fortune for them.

The 2007 G has a hard disk based Navi system NOT DVD. I'm not sure how to upgrade and if it is as simple as inserting a disk and burning it to the HD.

I can't imagine that it is an easy as burning a copy of the latest Nav disc?

If so, then considering it is copyrighted information, I am sure Zenrin would have a huge problem with that considering the disc is $190 so I would keep it on the DL.

I was at the dealer yesterday and was told the 2007 G35 nav system must be upgraded by the dealer because of the hard drive. They plug into the computer, update the system and hand you a bill.
