2006 Maxima side mirror problem

The driver side mirror on my 2006 Maxima will not fold in electronically. The mirror will move up, down, left and right. Does anyone know if the whole mirror assembly has to be replaced or is there a part that can be replaced that will allow it to fold in. Thanks.

I'm not sure right off what it could be, but it could be as simple as a fuse or there could be something wrong with the switch. I will let someone more familiar with your model chime in, but I'd check the obvious things first like connections and fuses, then go from there.

The passenger side mirror will fold in and operates fine. The dealership told me that the only fix was to replace the whole mirror assembly which is like a $500 repair.

You could look for a replacement on eBay and maybe find one off of a wrecked vehicle that is the same color for a lot less. It would probably be fairly easy to install yourself, so you could save yourself the repair costs.
