The 05/06 SE-R is a very solid car! I was looking to purchase one prior to the new gen Altima release. If you can get one for a good deal, you should really scoop it up. As far as the aftermarket, there is a lot of support for that model. I believe Stillen made a supercharger too. But even without an S/C, it is a fast car.

I wanna use it for auto x and at the drag strip. I would like a 12 sec daily driver .... are there any stand alone systems for them?

Wow, if you want a 12 sec daily, I'd suggest you start with something like an STi or EVO. In my opinion, it'll be too much work and too expensive to get the Altima to 12 sec. Just save yourself the headache and start with a better platform in the first place.

Not anywhere remotely close 12 seconds! I think they're mid-14 seconds. So even with a small supercharger like the Eaton M62, you'd still be way off that 12 second goal. Just start off with a better platform like the STi. 2.5 liter turbocharged flat-4 which runs I believe a 13.3 second in stock form. Not to mention the AWD of that beast!

Oh yeah, most definitely. We're talking about the legendary VQ35 in the Altima now. It's not a rocket ship, but it does have nice smooth linear power across the entire band. It didn't get awarded Ward's top 10 best engines for 13 years straight for nothing. The VQ series is the only engine to be honored by Ward's 10 Best Engines list every year since the list's inception.
