All 4 cylinder Nissans use the same firing order; which I can't remember off-hand

If you wait until Saturday when I work next I'll look it up in the service manual.

What I'm really trying to do is remove the head and set it on TDC. Is it hard to remove the timing chain? Thanks for your help.

1.8 or 2.5? Usually we just set the #1 piston (closest to the chain) to TDC.

You have to remove tension off of it to get it removed from the cam gears...the best way is to work it off of the guides and remove the tensioner.

I always mark it with a light mark of paint, but you can see on the chain and all three gears there are marks to line up. It's really easy to tell.

If it's the OEM chain, yes, it should be marked. I just did a head gasket on a QR25 and they were all clearly marked.

since no one has answered it yet, the firing order is 1-3-4-2
