I am going to motor swap my 2.5 with a 00 maxima 3.0 engine. I have only seen 5spd maximas. i was wondering if a 6spd transmission from the spec-v would work and if the wiring harness would work from the maxima. If anyone could help or has done before and has pointers I would appreciated.

Well it sounds like you have quite a bit of research to do first before even thinking about this swap. For starters, the VQ35 is a very common swap done to the B15 chassis, and is supported by swap kits and even bolt on parts that work with this particular setup, so swapping a 3.0L would be an unnecessary headache. Not many have been done (only a couple to my knowledge), and the 3.5 swap is becoming a very easy swap in the last year or so.

But to answer your question, you can use the Spec transmission as long as you get a Maxima bellhousing to mate up to the SpecV guts. As far as the wiring goes, there are many different things that need to be wired up, and it is not as simple as just taking out the Sentra one and putting in the Maxima one. This is something that should be done by someone who has experience with the swap, and I would suggest using some of the larger Sentra forums to get in touch with the people who can help you

The Spec transmission will mate up as long as you can source a Maxima bellhousing...which should be in the kit

Check out the Table of Contents. Swapping the 3.5 is much easier, and there's some info in a thread linked-to in there on it. It pretty much requires some specially built parts to make it all work, and the guy who first did it is a member here - Trav4011.
