I haven't, but I'd like to. I've done some searching and it appears thus far Crutchfield is the only company that has a unit that would fit our trucks. I don't like their limited selection; screens retract when not in use, which is a single din, I think. However they sell a kit for steering wheel controls. I have yet to visit a stereo install shop to see what is out there, but if someone has already installed a unit in their truck and could share that would be great.Micallen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 10:01 amDo you need to reuse the metal brackets that were attached to the Bose stereo? Unfortunately, I don't have the Bose radio or brackets any longer. I installed a single din, and the single din dash kit mounted nicely. But the double din dash kits that I see, seem to rely on the original brackets to mount the stereo. Maybe I'm wrong. This is all I see: https://www.carid.com/2003-nissan-pathf ... 94679.html
Has anyone mounted a double din in a 2001-2003 Pathfinder?
Any double-din receiver will fitRoyDaGeneral wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 5:55 pmI've done some searching and it appears thus far Crutchfield is the only company that has a unit that would fit our trucks.
I'm going to end up making my own mounting brackets I guess. Will be a little bit of trial and error, I'm sure.mdmellott wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 8:56 pmI installed a double-DIN Pioneer in my '02 and had to use the original brackets for mounting it. The Metra bezel you linked to is the same one I used but it is only a trim piece to make the install look right. My '02 had a Clarion system that used mounting bracket Nissan part numbers 280384W400 and 280394W400. The later Pathfinders with the Bose systems used mounting bracket Nissan part numbers 280701W300 and 280713W700. Not sure but it might make a difference with respect to where these brackets fasten to the sheet metal behind the dashboard. The Bose brackets appear to be discontinued but the Clarion brackets are still available at:

I'm no longer using any original wiring (other than power). I replaced all speakers and speaker wiring. Also, my SW controls were a little flaky when the original Bose was in there, so I'm not going to install SW controls.mdmellott wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:06 pmYou may also need a couple of add on items to make your Pioneer work well with the rest of the audio system and the steering wheel controls. For my Pioneer AVH-170DVD I also wired up:

However, the steering wheel control interface and the system interface to integrate the factory Bose amplifier would be different for your '03 and that specific Pioneer AVH-501EX. Crutchfield.com flagged the following items for your installation when I plugged in the AVH-501EX and the your '03 Pathfinder SE. I hope this helps if you haven't already thought about it.

I also noticed that Crutchfield has installation brackets and that Metra bezel that should work for you.

Oh, I didn't see the installation brackets. The link you posted was to all dash kits (762 of them).
Yep, that's the kit I have now. Currently have a single din Alpine in there. I don't understand why the single din kits have the mounting brackets, and the double din kits don't.

From all my searches it appears that Nissan parts # 280713W700 and 280713W300 are the mounting brackets for the Bose amplifier that mounts in the rear wheelwell at the rear of the driver's side of the Pathfinder, not the brackets that are used in the dash to hold the radio in.mdmellott wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 8:56 pmI installed a double-DIN Pioneer in my '02 and had to use the original brackets for mounting it.
