2003 I35 Shuts off while driving, Still runs but no throttle

Searching for the exact problem hasnt worked so hopefully this message will....

My 2003 I35 with 190k miles has started shutting off power while driving - The TCS and ABS lights come on and throttle doesnt work....it will cut in and out. Disconnected the battery terminal and was able to drive home. Isn't predictible as to when it will go out.

Any ideas ?

Don't have a lot of cash to spend on repairs so hoping for some real help here.

Looks like your alternator is on the way out or your battery is very weak and draining so much current from the alternator. How old is the battery. A battery in good condition should have 12.6 VDC or more. Anything less than 12.5 is a weak or partially charged battery. Alternator charging voltage should be greater than 13.8 VDC (spec is 14.1-14.7 VDC) and the voltage must be steady. Check you battery and alternator connection and wiring for corrosion and short circuit.
