2002 Nissan Xterra (A/C turns on and off)

The a/c on my xterra turns on and off by itself, usually stays off more than it's on. Could someone give me any feedback. Thanks.

Almost forgot to say Welcome to NICO!

Cycling of the AC compressor on and off is normal operation designed to save fuel and save the system from over-pressure.

Thanks, I guess i worded it wrong. The a/c throws out warm/hot air most of the time when the a/c is on. A lot of times it'll click back and forth switching on and off withing seconds. I've had it checked, it has no leaks.
