2002 I35 Check Engine Light Questions

Hello and thanks for the forum...great stuff! Infiniti 2002 I35 is my ride!!

My code has read PO158 for O2 Rear Bank 2 Sensor, where is this sensor located? I have found four total on the car. I can buy the Universal sensor for $67 or the dealer one for $147 which is pre-wired. Is there a difference? Which do you suggest.

I searched the forum and found reference to older models. Also, does the gas pedal procedure clear my car codes? Could you paste the information here on how to clear it.

You use the obd2 scanner to clear codes.

It has been 10+ years since this standard became law for all automobiles.

Time to download a FSM.

Get the O2 sensor from http://www.sparkplugs.com or http://www.infinitipartsusa.com as there are many factory rejects out there in OEM looking boxes.

I bet it is the one behind the cat on the firewall side. FSM and TSB is in order.

Thanks for the input. FSM Downloaded. Part ordered. I may purchase a Scantool for the future. It seems that Infiniti/Nissan seem to go through sensors more than other cars I have owned.

my check engine light comes on aftes it is turned off by a certified infiniti machenic. the code was P0021. I had an autostart put on the car a few months ago. do you have any idea what that code is and why it keeps comming back on?

Hey, I have the same code problem too! Maybe I should have read your post before I posted. To clear out your code, take the positive cable off and then hold the break pedal for 50-60 seconds and it should clear out. It works on mine and also I've read that you can just take your positive cable off and touch the negative and that clears it out also. I haven't tried that but I do know the break thing works. BTW, War Eagle!!! Dec. 06 Grad!!
