I plan to remove the stock airbox/intake from my 2001 sentra se, but it seems that there are some wires attached to the actual tubing of the stock intake. I'm afraid to just rip that right out and start attaching an aftermarket cold air because I might damage an electrical component of the car. If anyone has put on an aftermarket intake on their 2000 or 2001 sentra let me know what you did about this issue, or if you have any knoweledge of the stock airbox/intake let me know, thanks.

Which part? There's two sensors in the intake. One is actually integrated into the black piping after the filter, that's the MAF, and you will re-use that. The other is a temp sensor. It sits in a little bung. You can pull it out of the bung and put it to the side, then put it in your new intake's piping. The new piping should have a bung for it. There will be a grommet either in the stock intake or with the new one to hold the temp sensor in place.
