2001 QX4 Power seats

Both front power seats stopped working. The backs continue to work but neither will go forward or backward. What could be the problem. I find it strange that both stopped working.

Not sure why both stopped but I had one stop and it turned out the nylon gear that is in the gearbox (there is a gear box for each worm gear) had its teeth broken. Looks like a 50 cent part but the dealer wants me to buy the whole under seat assembly for $800. Unbolt one of the seats and check out the gear box. If it is the problem, good luck trying to find a nylon gear.Steve
