2001 QX4 Compass Display Problem

Hi, I am having a problem with the compass display in my 2001 QX4. Today, the horizontal bar under the "N E S W" letters started to blink a constant rate. I could not find the error code in my owner's manual, and the direction and temperature indications work fine so far...any ideas???

Are you near power lines? A neighbourhood transformer box? The compass display on my Jeep either goes wonkers or fails to display anywhere near high voltage.

I kind of guessed the same thing, but only the little horizontal graph bar below the NESW indication was blinking. Oh well, its working fine now...
