2001 Pathfinder Bose question

Hello, I have a 2001 Pathfinder with the bose unit and 6 disc changer in the dash. When I put a CD in the changer, it comes up with "Error 1". Any Ideas on what this could be? Thanks in advance.

Its got an internal problem with the drive unit. What we do with those problems is remove the deck and send it to a local electronics repair shop to be fixed. The place we use charges a $60 diagnostic fee. Depending on whats wrong the repair costs more. Usually in the neigborhood of 200 to 300 dollars. It is cheaper then replacing the whole unit. If you can contact your local dealer and see who they use for repairs and contact them.

I had my changer repaired for $110.00. Just remove it and send it to Clarion. You should call them first and confirm the price for your problem, mine was Error 2. I got several quotes from other places between $200 and $400. The only problem with Clarion is that you get a 90 day warranty instead of one year if you go threouh the dealer, but the dealer was going to charge me $200 or more. They also wanted $90 to remove the unit. Good luck
