2001 Maxima,What can be causing this?

When slowing to a stop in my 2001 maxima, just before car comes to a full stop, it kinda lunges forward. Had this happen on a Buick i once had and it was a bad torque converter. Can that be the problem or would it have something to do with the idle not catching up to the transmission down shifting? Can it be the MAF sensor?

Sounds like it may possibly be the throttle position sensor or the the butterfly valve hot shutting completely.
