Hello. I just picked up a 2001 Infiniti QX4. It is from AZ with 100,000 miles and seems to be in great shape. The only problem I'm having is with the front seats. Neither of them will move forwards or backwards. They move up and down and the back tilts so it seems to be getting power. When I move the switch forward or back it makes no sound. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are separate motors that move the seat up/down, tilt, back and forth. Check to see if the motor toward the front of the seat is getting power or has become unplugged. Page BT-42 of the service manual will show you where it is located and what it looks like. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual ... 6+Trim.pdf

My mechanic went on youtube and found some help. He rapped the motor with a hammer and its now working. Great free fix!..... for now.

It probably won't last. That almost always means the motor brushes are crapping out. The good news is, if you can solder, you can probably get new brushes from an outfit like Eurton Electric and rebuild it.
