I have a 2001 Infiniti I30 - Stock without HIDs.

What is the difference between HID Projectors vs. a Halogen Projector. Many Newer car claim that they use halogen lights, and the the projector lens make it look as if it is a HID setup? am i right?

I've also read that HID Kits do not come with HID projectors and they only enable you to use an hid light bulb in your car. and u might have to buy the project seperatly.

Also, there was a write ups stating that all HID Kits are not worth the money because they dont work (effective) as well as some of the HIDs that come stock on the new Lexus cars. Any truth to that?

This is the Link that say Aftermarket HID kits are not worth the money:

The 00' Infiniti I30 has a different headlight setup, so i cant use the 03 maximas or I30 Stock - Hid housing.

Im not sure if the I35s have HIDs and even if they do, i dont know how well they work with the I30s.

I just want my low beam to have the projector lens "look" without losing light quality. I would love it if i could get the "look" plus gain light quality!

My question is: could i just purchase a halogen projector for my stock halogen lights, instead of using a HID Kit? Will my light output be effected. I want the HID look, but i dont want HID kit cons.

Someone please shine some light on me....

I don't know if a halogen and HID projector are different or not.

I do know that you can buy reflectors specifically for HID lighting. All HID kits I've seen, do not have reflectors included. I recently put a HID kit on my Maxima. It works and looks great, I simply had to adjust the headlights a little lower than they were.In my opinion, HID kits are worth the money. It makes the road a lot brighter, and the car looks better too.You can shop around for projectors. They will run you around $350-400.You can buy a HID kit from Co Way with everything you need for $180.Here is a thread to let you see the lights.

The 2000 and 2001 I30s have the exact same headlights. The only difference in headlights is that the I30ts have smoked housings and HIDs. Projector beam headlights are overrated. I've driven BMWs that have them and I can't really tell the difference. Just get a low beam HID kit or D2Rs out of an I35 and throw them in.
