yes easy to do. what thy are probably hitting you up for is an intake fluch. they have an injector that clamps int the intake boot right in front of the throttle body this is attatched to an air charged cyl. in that cyl are special decarb chemicals. once hooked up they start the car and ,pull the fuel pump fuse in some cases, let it run till the chemical is gone from the cyl. this doesnt only clean the throttle body but it also cleans the entire intake system of carbon build up. its a good service and in some cases it hels cars get through smog inspections easier. there is also a fuel additive added to the tank to help the decarbing on the back of the valves and tips of the injectors.
sticking throttle can be a result of carbon build up around the throttle plate in the throttle body. you do not need to remove it to clean it. if thats all you want to clean. get a tooth brush and a can of carb clean. remove the intake boot and look in there you will see a gold plate. around the outer edge you will see black deposits. this is your culprit and what you need to clean. prop your throttle plate as far open as it will go. spray the carb clean directing it toward the deposits[try not to fill your intake manifold with the stuff] you can use a generous amount on the areas being cleaned let it sit for a few seconds. then use your brush to dislodge it some then spray it again. its ok if you spray it into the intake chamber but its best to use a soft cloth to wipe it out of that area so it doesnt end up in another area of the intake. you want to clean both the throttle body and the throttle plate where the 2 meet when closed.
