Don't pick on H. He's a good ole fella.

Here is a pic my son took of me and my mechanical babies. Subtract 10 pounds. I have shed my winter blubber.

Thanks. If you still had your 'Stang we would go find a back road and do a little 0 - 60!

Got as far as getting my pics on my desk top to place my AutoTrader ad, but that is as far as I have gotten.

Aw H, what a cutie pie.

Good ole American Muscle. Gotta love it. I loved the pistol grip shifter on the Challenger in Vanishing Point. Damn Barry Newman could shift!

If I ever had the $40k to blow on a Chrysler product, I would have a Challenger just like the one in the movie. Of course I would have to keep the Z to drive while the Challenger was in the shop.

My mom had a Corvair that didn't have a/c or a radio. We had to carry a transistor radio in the car to have music..

:chuckle:

Mom didn't want to pay for any options

She spent the money on her kids

You had a thoughtful mom

My sister had a Corvair

What a POS

Ralph Nader nailed it

It was a poor substitute for a VW Beedle

I barely remember that car. I remember the '54 Ford she had before that because I busted the windshield with my head. Who needs car seats?!?!?

I also remember the first car she got with power brakes. It was a '65 Dodge Coronet. I remember going through many a traffic light with all 4 locked up.

Then....thank God, when I started to drive, she got a red '70 Charger. It was only a 318 2bbl, but it was pretty. Had an AM radio too! ;)

Now, ask me what I had for dinner last night. I bet I couldn't tell you.

I lost control of my mom's Charger THE DAY I GOT MY LICENSE!!!! Was showing off (I know you find that hard to believe) took a corner way too fast, slid sideways into a curb, came out of my seat (cause I wasn't wearing a seatbelt) and ended up in my friend's lap, but my foot was still on the gas. Thank God we hit another curb and it killed the engine. I have NEVER again in my life taken a corner that fast.

:squint:

My girlfriend was laughing so hard she wet her pants.

SHORTLY after getting my license was pulling up to a red light in the blue alligator (72 Gran Torino Station Wagon) and thought I was at a complete stop when I reached up in the visor for my smokes (long since stopped), felt a bump, looked down and saw what looked like Sgt Carter bouncing up and down in his State Patrol car with his State Patrol hat on......
"Boy don't you know I'm the wrong person to be running into......"
No damage, and he let me go.....

Dodge power brakes in that era would lock up if you breathed on them hard. And the power steering was so synthetic feeling it was hard to believe there was actually a mechanical interface.

There's a reason you feel young. Even I had to have a few old cars to start off with, and I'm not nearly as old as this thread's posters are.

Are you kidding? We make dirt feel young. I think 'cobra's about my age, and Becki is a year or two younger.
