2000 Desert Runner smells of antifreeze

My 2000 Desert Runner engine has a smell of antifreeze, especially while running. I can't find any leaks nor is the fluid going down.
The fluid stays at the bottom line. There is no steam coming out from the engine. I had trouble a while back after having the hoses replaced. They did not tighten down good and I spent a time tightening the hose clamps every once in a while.

The 2002 SEV6 I used to own did this too. I was never able to track the source.
