Just two weeks ago, I caught a guy (litterally saw him do it an confronted him) leaving a door ding that broke the paint. He of course said he would fix it, but has yet to pay anything and has stopped returning my phone calls.....so....I found his insurance company. He doesn't even know I have filed a claim (because he refused to give me insurance info), but my company has a special team to track people down, so I used it. It is only a $400 repair and I don't think the insurance company will really pay to have it fixed, but I figure he at least will have a claim sitting, waiting for him. People can be so rude. I figure a man is only as good as his word...he obviously isn't...
It sure feels good to catch people in the act. I remember last year I was sitting in my truck in a crowded parking lot talking on the phone and all of sudden I feel the whole truck rock. I looked back to see this big dark green Lincoln. He tried to park next to me and took it too wide and hit my bumper. Looked like he was trying to leave so I got out and confronted him. He was a young hispanic with his girlfriend. He was very apologetic and we looked at the bumper. Just a very minor scratch. I told him to be more careful.
Another time I was in my Mustang. I had just pulled into a spot when a minivan pulled in next to me. For some reason I knew he was going to hit my car. Sure enough he opens his door right into my door. I immediately jumped out and gave him an earful right in front of his 3 passengers, 1 of them being a colonel (I was an E-5 at the time). None of them said a word..lol Fortunately, no damage was done. Turns out the guy works at the same building I did and he avoided parking anywhere near me after that.
