The plan is to do at least 1 if not 2 shakedown events at the end of this season (October/November) at Wildhorse, then hit the full schedule of NASA next year and as many global time attack events I can make it to (so mostly CA events, but I'd love to do road atlanta as well). As soon as I get my thermostat and timing belt done on the R32, I can definitely go for a cruise in that! The S14 is for the most part, strictly a track car, ha ha. I'm keeping it "legal" enough to go to some meets here and there, and drive to and from the track if I have to, but otherwise, it stays in the garage, ha ha. That's why I got the R32, fun car for the street!

Well why are you dragging on the thermo and the T belt? Git R Dun! I just did the belt and cams in my RB, didn't end up being as bad as I thought it would. Need to go and get it tuned with the AEM, but I'm not liking all the negative stuff I'm hearing about tuners in our area.

Ha ha, it's because I've been working on a million different projects, so I haven't had the time to knock it out! As for tuners, the only one in the area that I trust is Tony at UMS. He has tuned my SR20 and a number of other cars I know about all with good results. My buddy Casey had his R32 tuned there as well. He's also certified with AEM and other ecu companies. The only negative I've heard about Tony was customers who didn't really know what they were talking about, and taking their own mistakes out on the shop (I have a pretty good example that I won't bore you with here, ha ha).

How is this build going? Did you ever get it running, tuned, dyno'd?
I'm really considering another SR20 rather than the LS1 route just for how cheap I can get an SR20 for these days and the fact they drop in.
After owning an Evo, I won't have a turbo that isn't a twinscroll and these EFR turbos are the freaking business! I can't wait to see what it'll do on this engine.

I've been pretty busy with other projects, so I haven't had much time to work on it lately unfortunately. Keep an eye out though, because it will get done!

So it has been quite some time since I've posted any updates. I don't have any pictures to upload at the moment, mainly because I haven't been able to work on the S14 much recently. Most of my time has been on a new house and messing with the new daily (sold the G20).

Anyways, I made the decision to sell the DET head and upgrade to a P11 head. Mainly to keep up with my local competition, ha ha. So I grabbed a spare P11 VE from a fellow FWD SR friend local to me so I can take the head off. Head is in great shape, albeit a bit dirty. I also decided to run a digital dash in this car vs. the mess of analog gauges like the S13. So I decided on an AEM CD7 to work with my AEM Infinity. Also grabbed an ECU master's PMU unit with button pad to run all the power circuits on the car.

Today, I just got in the mail Kelford 184-ST cams and their beehive springs, and I have a Hypertune manifold with a DBW Porsche throttle body attached to it on the way. Hoping to have that in my hands in the next month or so.

Still trying to decide if I should do shimless valves or not, but I do plan to go with Supertech over-sized valves, port-work, and a hall sensor in lieu of the CAS.

Also debating on what to do for oiling. I know Nitto is coming out with an SR pump that works with the VE swap, but not sure when. I'd like to go dry sump, but it's a grip of cash. Thinking of going with an accusump if I stay with a traditional oil pump though.

That's about it. Nothing too exciting, but I figured I'd at least make an update post, LOL.

No major progress yet (Still working on other projects), but a couple more parts came in, lol.

Hypertune intake manifold/fuel rail for the VE head with a Bosch GT3 DBW throttle body. Not sure if I should coat or powder the plenum or not. I definitely want to clean it up a little though.

Well, no major updates recently (still). New baby and new house have been taking all of my time! I did move the cars into their new home though, nice new 1080 sq ft garage! Can't wait to get it all setup so I can start wrenching again... probably not until April.

Well, I ended up grabbing ANOTHER P11 VE head.... This time instead of a well used stock one, it was one that has already been prepped. Has oversized supertech valves, full port and chamber work by 5523 Motorsports, WPC treated everything, and new N1 cams with some JWT valve springs. Also has Inconel R35 studs on the exhaust side. Lash is all done, so it's basically ready to be bolted on. Picked this up from Juan at Bardabe Performance. It was going on his personal Z32/VET build, but he is consolidating projects, so I swooped in to save the head, LOL.

Now the question is: Do I rock the N1 cams to see how they do, or do I pull them (and the springs that are meant for N1 cams) and swap in the Kelford 184-ST cams and Kelford beehive springs that I have sitting on the shelf? Bad thing is that I'd have to reshim the head (not the end of the world), but I'm curious how the N1 cams would fare with my setup. At the moment, I still have an EFR7163, buuuuut, I've been considering swapping that out for the new EFR8474. An industry friend of mine who was on the pilot program for tuning the new black series EFRs was raving about that turbo and it's capabilities.

Thanks! It has unfortunately been pretty slow going lately, which is why there hasn't been any updates!

New baby and home here too so I know how it is. At least you have something to work with, I don't have a project right now but hopefully down the road can get back into a 240.
