That would be sweet, but I know it'll be fairly lower on a Mustang dyno, ha ha.

love the build thread man, and props for sticking with it throughout this whole ordeal lol. i have a fully built sr with a holset hx35 on it currently. had a decent tune at 17 psi made 380 to the wheels and 310 torque. prior to turning the boost up to 17 it was at 15 making 350, thats 15 hp per psi, which is great in my mind! im now running 20 on 91 pump gas but havent dynoed it, ill be switching to e85 since its decently easy to find in OK. and e85 will definitely help get my torque numbers back up there! good luck with everything!

Except shifted to the right a couple thousand RPMs ha ha.

I'm hoping that going with a little stiffer WG spring will increase my boost response a little too!

I was just watching your videos online yesterday. Didn't expect to run into the thread on here, lol. Looks great!

I'm planning on a very similar build pretty soon here. Did you use the Full-Race intercooler too? I couldn't find pictures or description running through the pages...

Thanks! It's a Greddy FMIC kit. It's the V-Spec one. I like it because it's a hybrid intercooler vs bar & plate, so it's a little more externally efficient and lighter. Bar and plate is very efficient inside, but not so much externally (talking flow here, lol).

Well, I know updates have been lackluster for awhile, I have been away for work so I haven't had much time to do anything. I can lay out my plans for this winter though.

First and foremost, the white S13 will be retired eventually. I will be pulling off almost everything aftermarket and what can be used, will be swapped over to the red S14. What can't be used or what I want to upgrade anyways will be then sold off to help fund the switchover, although I will be spending way more than what I can get for the used stuff! Ha ha.

Some key things that will be new on the S14 are:

S14 Radiator
Different FMIC Setup
Wiring Specialties Harness for AEM
New clutch kit (undecided on what kind)
Mazworx kit for swapping Z32 transmission (already have half the kit and the trans)
Possibly a new LSD as I already sold the KAAZ and only have a VLSD atm
All new suspension (still undecided here, but KW clubsports, custom Koni 8611 setup, or Feal/Fortune Auto if I can't afford the prior two... I do have a wedding to pay for, ha ha)
Brand New SSR 17x9 +22 wheels with 255/40/17 Nitto NT01 tires (already have --- more on those later on)

I'm sure there's some more minor things, but that's the gist of what's to come. I'll try to update as it happens, but it'll be slow I'm sure :D

About the lip- How did you prepare the lip for paint? I'm planning on doing my own and didn't know where to start with it.

I just did a quick sand and wiped it down with lacquer thinner afterward to clean it up. It lasted awhile, but with the amount of crap on the roads here in Oregon, it quickly chipped again, ha ha. I have some kouki sideskirts to install so I will be doing the same with those and I'll be redoing the lip at the same time. Should look pretty decent.

As for sanding, if the surface is not dinged up and pretty smooth, you can use a pretty fine grit. If you need to make it smooth, I'd start out with a thicker grit to smooth it out, then work your way to something like 1500 grit or so before using paint. I just used 1500 (or 2000, I don't remember, ha ha) right off, because the lip condition wasn't bad other than the color. Just use black plastic trim paint.

Lol, I bought the car two years ago, and the owner said he had it for quite some time. Probably a car close to it though

The Megan exhaust and floor mats are long gone. Sorry dude!

I would love those brakes. Think R32 wheels will clear them?

S14 SE wheels clear them with no spacers. I have to use 5mm-8mm spacers when using Z32 wheels. It's my honest opinion that these are the best brake options for an S Chassis for the buck. I think I spent a total of $850 for everything, lines, calipers, rotors, hats, pads, brackets, and hardware.

I love me some 16" wheels. They do narrow the options for brakes, but I don't autocross or anything nearly enough to warrant concern.

My S14 is pretty much a twin sister, but with the sunroof option. She's got a fuel tank leak somewhere and is sitting in the shop. She's getting body work and paint this winter. I'm considering a color change...not 100% on anything atm.

How are those Nittos in the wet?

I will also be doing a color change, but only slightly. I still want a dark red, but more red to stand out. I actually want the medium red pearl from my old celica alltrac. I loved that color. Here's a couple pics of my old car for reference:

Image

Image

I know it's super close to the color I currently have, but I think that it looks a little nicer. The good thing, is that I won't have to touch the jams or anything if I don't want to, ha ha.

As for the tires, I don't know, I haven't driven on them more than a block, ha ha. I've been rocking my dunlop direzza ZIIs on my other wheels for the time being. I'm daily driving this car atm, so I don't want to waste the good tires! I will know better on the Nittos next spring after I finish the swap over from the S13 to the S14.

Now that is a sexi red right there.

I say change away....lol

Aren't you afraid that the colour wouldn't be that close and if you don't do the jams, every time you open the door the difference would show up and drive you crazy....lol
