So I picked up a long time dream car of mine finally, an original TH1 (Dark Blue Pearl) 1990 Skyline GTR :) I've wanted one since I was a kid playing Gran Turismo 1, and finally was able to pull the trigger! Since I have the 240SX project as my racecar, I plan to keep this a clean street car with some decent power.

Current modification list is pretty limited, but I like it that way.

- Nismo Front Strut Bar
- Up Garage Rear Strut Bar
- Blitz Coilovers
- I think Blitz FMIC
- I think Blitz Intakes
- Unknown Test Pipe
- Unknown HID Kit
- Nismo Shift Knob
- Blue interior LEDs
- Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust

Before I start doing anything to it, I wanted to do a quick photo-shoot of it as it sits. I had my buddy Chris take the photos as he's a lot of better than I, so here they are!

I did pickup my first mod the first weekend I had the car, ha ha. A local guy was going to a single turbo setup and was selling his bolt on parts, so I grabbed his HKS downpipe for a pretty reasonable price.

Just in case you'd like a pair of aftermarket turbo outlet pipes for cheap I've got a pair of Power Engineering ones lying around.

Nice! Shoot me a PM with what you're willing to part with them for. I'll have to see if I can scrounge up some spare cash, lol. I sort of spent most of it getting the car! Ha ha :chuckle:

So the tires that came with the car started to worry me, so I swapped them for my wheels and tires I had on my S14 until I can order up some new wheels and tires for the R32. Wheels are 17x9 +22 SSR GTV02 with 255/40/17 Nitto NT-01s.

That same day, I attended a little photoshoot with the local R35 group, so myself and another R32 (GTS Sedan) photobombed them a bit... Ha ha!

I'm thinking of ordering up 18x10 +22 Advan GT's for the R32. +22 offset would not only allow me to dial in fitment with small spacers, but also allow me to run them on the S14 if I decide to. Just trying to decide if I should do the Machined Hyper Black or Semi-Gloss Black. Open for input!

Snagged some used Nismo "Circuit Link" front lower control arms! Going to refurbish them before I install, now I just need to find the rest of the stuff, lol.

Huge relief today! On my way home from Cars & Coffee my oil pressure gauge started reading just above 0 at idle and barely 1 bar or so around 3k rpm, so I drove it carefully home (since the engine sounded fine with no abnormal noises). Did a little research online and narrowed it down to two things. Either the screws on the backing plate were backing off the oil pump housing (sucky situation), or the sending unit was bad. So I crossed my fingers and went to O'Reilly's and picked up a new oil pressure sending unit (Z32 if anyone needs one), and installed it (bit of a PITA). Pressure is back to normal!!! Whew!!!

Couple small parts arrived today. Works Bell Hub and Greddy Pulleys. I have a Nardi wheel on order for the hub, as well as a number of other parts, but they won't be here for awhile, ha ha. R32 in the USA problems!

Small Update:

Updated the interior a little bit. Replaced the stereo deck with an old Alpine unit I had from my S13 and installed a Nardi deep corn wheel with works bell hub, as well as a new shift boot, e-brake boot, and center console lid cover. The latter three and the steering wheel are all black leather with blue stitching.

Image

Image

I also installed a new Koyo radiator, Samco hoses, and a Greddy pulley kit. First step at improving the cooling system is done. Looking to do more, but this should do for now.

Little bit of an update! I've finally received all four of my Advan GTs! Tires get here tomorrow, so I'll have mounted pics soon, ha ha, but until then, here are dismounted pics. On my bathroom scale, they came to 19.6lbs. Not terrible for an 18x10 +22 wheel!

Image

Image

Image

I also installed my Ikeya Formula -5mm front upper control arms. They added another .5° of negative camber.

Image

Image

Image

Hoping to get my Nismo front lowers back from powdercoat tomorrow, so that will add a little extra negative camber. I may get to about -2° which would be decent for a street car. It's sitting at -1.5° at the moment.

Thanks! I don't think they come in bronze, just hyper black w/ machined lip (what I got), matte black, and silver. Of course, you could always make them bronze :naughty:

Threw the AdvanGT stickers on right after I picked the wheels up from the tire shop. Had them install some Nitto NT05s in 275/35/18. I was actually surprised how much stretch was on the tires. I think I should have gone with 285s... oh well, lol.

Thanks! I actually took some pictures this morning, but they didn't turn out that well. My camera has been having some issues focusing correctly lately, but this is what I got!

Image

I honestly like the wheel fitment with stock fenders. I do need to roll the fronts just a hair, but I think the +22 offset is perfect. Other than the front of the fender liner and the top of the wheel arch of the fender on large bumps, the tires don't rub anywhere. I do want to lower the front a little more, it's a tad higher than the rear.

Image

Image

I also installed the Nismo front lower arms which gave me a bit more negative camber up front. I am now at -2.2° on one side and -2.4° on the other. Variation may be due to my uneven garage floor. I'll have to get it aligned soon to get some more accurate numbers.

That 5-spoke design is similar to Nismo LMGT4, any reason why you prefer Advan over Nismo? Do you feel 275 is too wide for stock power?

Thanks! The LMGT4 and the Advan GT are both made by Rays, lol. They are almost the same wheel actually. I know it's silly, but there are two main reasons why I went with the Advan GT over the LMGT4. I wanted a gunmetal-ish color with a machined lip, and I've always been turned off by the 10 hole pattern on the LMGT4. I prefer the simple look of the hub area of the Advan GT. As for the tires, I don't think it's too wide. The car drives quite nice with them. I don't plan on staying stock power forever anyways, lol.

Touche my friend, touche. Glad I'm not the only one to find that off-putting. On a replica or cheaper cast wheel I don't mind, but seriously Nismo?

Went out with the local group of R32 dudes today for a BBQ meet. After everyone left, I took a few solo pictures because it was a cool spot. So here they are, lol.

How bad is the rubbing?

I had 18x10 +22 Volk TriForce Zeldas on my old 91 I had in Japan with 265s. Didn't have any rubbing issues.

They only rub up front, and it's only on the plastic liner. If I remove the liner and give it a slight roll, it won't rub at all.
