I have an 83 720 pickup with a z24, i was wondering if anyone knows the max lift the stock head/valve springs can handle.

I'm pretty sure stock is .416, and i was looking at comp cams part# 88-119-6, which has .422 lift

if anyone knows or has had any experience with this cam please let me know

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the stockers can handle that much more lift. Mikuni used to make a cam for the z24 engine called a Mikuni Muscle Cam. maybe you can scour the earth and find one on the cheap. Heres another pointer, a z20 cam has better lift than a z24 cam does. Maybe you could find one for cheap maybe, even a factory one. But the Comp Cams one is fine, too. I'm just being a cheap bastard.

4x4parts is good till you see how much shipping is. I really want to do business with them but I can't, they can't beat my local vendors 100% of the time on pricing.
